One Hundred and Eight Degrees

— Federico Moramarco
Have you considered the possibility
that everything you believe is wrong,
not merely off a bit, but totally wrong,
nothing like things as they really are?

If you’ve done this, you know how durably fragile
those phantoms we hold in our heads are,
those wisps of thought that people die and kill for,
betray lovers for, give up lifelong friendships for.

If you’ve not done this, you probably don’t understand this poem,
or think it’s not even a poem, but a bit of opaque nonsense,
occupying too much of your day’s time,
so you probably should stop reading it here, now.

But if you’ve arrived at this line,
maybe, just maybe, you’re open to that possibility,
the possibility of being absolutely completely wrong,
about everything that matters.

How different the world seems then:
everyone who was your enemy is your friend,
everything you hated, you now love,
and everything you love slips through your fingers like sand.

"It's a poem doing a dangerous dance with prose"-CS

On January 29, 2011 -two years ago on Saturday- I started this blog. A friend of my brother told me she thought "I should blog it out." And thus a problem was born. I have 3 1/2 blogs [I share one], 4 tumblrs [soon to be three], and 1 livejournal. I've been to Europe and met Frank a  BAMF (my new vocab word) -slash- tour guide. I have luckily fallen out of love [thank you goddess], read like 20 film books, read the gorgeous book Cunt, realized how my true friends are, gone to college, watched brilliant films, printing pictures in a dark room, taken a poetry class with a guy I've wanted to meet forever, and had a death scare that turned out not be deadly.

I'm 17 and I think my life's pretty good. Even if I scream otherwise.

I've deleted almost all of the blog posts that were here before because I'm over the shit that I had to blog out. It only took two years and the ability not to email the person I used to adore. Sigh. Don't worry people of the internet I'm fine but losing people is difficult.
